How To Hear God
God wants all of His children to read and study the Bible. God, the Creator of the universe has given us His Word and it is very accessible, so it would be foolish not to check it out and see for ourselves what He has to say.
The best way to allow God to work in your life, to change your life, is simply to spend some time with Him every day: speaking to Him, this is called prayer, and listening to Him, this is done by reading the Bible. Some people call this having a Daily Quiet Time.
Below is a simple guide to follow that will assist you as you have your Daily Quiet Time
Pray: Give thanks to God and Ask God to give you understanding of His Word.
Read: You choose what and how much to read; maybe one chapter, maybe even a shorter section. A good place to start is by reading one chapter from the Book of John at a time.
(1) Who are the main characters?
(2) Summarize the passage.
(3) Is there: a command to obey, an example to follow, a promise to claim?
(4) My favorite verse from this passage is…
