The Bible
*The Bible is God’s perfect word and reveals His love for us and His plan for our lives. It teaches us what to believe and how to live.
*The Bible is made up of 66 different books, written over a period of approximately 1600 years by more than 40 different human authors. God’s Spirit guided the human authors of what to write, so that the Bible is actually God’s word and not merely man’s.
*The Bible is divided into two parts. The Old Testament contains 39 books and the New Testament contains 27 books. The Old Testament tells the story of God before Jesus came to earth to pay for sins, and the New Testament tells the story of God of the time Jesus lived on the earth and what happened after he went back to heaven.
*The Old Testament was originally written in Hebrew and Aramaic. The New Testament was originally written in Greek. Today we have many translations of the Bible in many languages. They use different words and languages, but they all have the same message.
